Career Posting: Environmental Health Supervisor
Ramsey County, Maplewood, MN is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Environmental Health Supervisor
To lead and supervise the Community Environmental Health program in the Environmental Health Division, including five professional staff and one or more student interns. This includes program planning; leading and managing regulatory work consistent with the Department's compliance strategies, supervising the following program areas: public health nuisance control, food service and retail food protection, community water supply, lodging establishments, public swimming pools, children's camps, the Ramsey County Clean Air Ordinance, and related areas. It also includes coordinating work with other Division programs; participating in leading elements of public health emergency response; leading and/or coordinating other environmental health projects; assisting in budget development and monitoring; assuring that ordinances are current; working cooperatively with other local health departments and environmental health programs, as well as federal, state and local agencies, especially the Minnesota Department of Health and Minnesota Department of Agriculture, and working with other Division management staff on leadership and management coordination.
- Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's Degree in environmental health, environmental studies, public health, environmental science, the physical or biological sciences, or a related environmental health field, including at least 30 semester or 45 quarter credit hour credits in the physical or biological sciences.
Experience: Five years of experience as a professional in an environmental health program.
Substitution: A Master's Degree in a related field may substitute for two years of experience.
Other: Registration as an Environmental Health Specialist/Sanitarian by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH)
