Washington County, MN, is seeking a talented and motivated environmental health professional to join our team as an Environmental Resource Supervisor. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in public health, environmental health, natural resource or waste management, sustainability, environmental planning, planning, communication or related field and five (5) years of full-time experience as a professional in the environmental field. A minimum of one full-time year of documented, satisfactory experience as a lead worker is required. A Master’s degree in public health, environmental health, environmental planning, natural resources, waste management or related field is desirable and may substitute for one year of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Offers of employment will be contingent upon passing a criminal history investigation prior to beginning employment with Washington County.
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position guides staff in program planning and implementation of activities and requirements of the county’s waste management master plan, along with joint programming and coordinated work through the Ramsey/Washington Recycling & Energy Board. The work primarily includes waste reduction and recycling, waste to biofuel/energy production, internal county leadership in sustainability and energy, along with connections to groundwater protection, hazardous waste management, and other environmental areas.
HOURS / DAYS / LOCATION: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. Occasional nights and weekends may be required. Work schedules (hours and days) and location are subject to change based on department needs.
ANTICIPATED HIRING RANGE: $70,201 – $83,189 annually
