Anoka County Environmental Services Is seeking qualified candidates to fill the following position Environmental Health Specialist.

Position Description: The Anoka County Public Health and Environmental Services (PHES) department has an immediate opening for a Environmental Health Specialist. The Environmental Health Specialist performs daily activities involving investigation, inspection, data collection and analysis, enforcement action, report preparation, and public contact. The Environmental Health Specialist is responsible for ensuring applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations are being met.

This is a full-time, exempt, hybrid position. Interviews will take place the week of May 27th, 2024 for those selected to move forward in the hiring process.

Salary: $60,819 to $72,966 annually ($29.24 to $35.08 per hour).
2023 Anoka County Salary Schedule Grade 32: $60,819 to $85,113 ($29.24 to $40.92 per hour).

This position will work at the Anoka County Government Center, located at 2100 3rd Ave, Anoka MN.
This position may be eligible for flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work, with some days working remotely and some days working in the office.
Expected work hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Recurrent after hours and weekend work is required.
This position will require up to 70% of time in the field.

Position Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in environmental health, food science, natural science, or a closely related field
Two years (2,080 annual hours) of job-related experience in environmental health
Possess or able to obtain within two years registration as an Environmental Health Specialist
Successfully pass driver’s license background check
Must have valid driver's license and vehicle available for business use
